Das Deutsche als ‚lingua tecnica‘ spielt seit langem eine wichtige Rolle zur Erneuerung des Fachwortschatzes im Bereich der (elektrischen) Technik für die Sprachen Ex-Jugoslawiens. Im Zentrum steht das Albanische im ex-jugoslawischen Raum und das Mazedonische. Doch dieser Prozess dauert bis heute noch an. Mittels soziolinguistischer Methoden, etwa über die Untersuchung des Berufswandels und der Technik, kann man die Transferwege und -zeiten viel besser erforschen, als über den traditionellen Lautwandel, weil die Transferwege zu heterogen und manchmal sogar parallel laufen. Während vor den 1990-er Jahren die jugoslawische Zugehörigkeit als Kommunikationsraum dieses Transfers zu betrachten ist, dient nach dem Zerfall Jugoslawiens die Migration als Mittler dieses Sprachtransfers. Materialebeschaffungsweg etwa über Online-Portale, fördern diesen Sprachtransfer.

German as a lingua tecnica has long played an important part in the renewal of technical vocabulary in the field of (electrical) engineering for the languages of the former Yugoslavia. Albanian in the former Yugoslavia and Macedonian are at the center of this process. However, this process is still in progress today. By using sociolinguistic methods, e.g. the study of changes in professions and technology, it is much easier to study the paths and periods of transfer than by focusing on traditional sound change, because the transfer paths are to heterogeneous and have occasionally occurred concurrently. Before the 1990s the Yugoslav connection may be viewed as the communication space of this transfer, but after the disintegration of Yugoslavia, migration serves as the mediator of this language transfer. This language transfer is encouraged by means of material procurement, such as online sales platforms.
