Der Artikel befasst sich mit der doppelten Identität der Zipser Sachsen und derer historischen Wurzeln, einschließlich ihres Landespatriotismus. Zuerst wird der historische Hintergrund des Hungarus- Bewusstseins der Zipser Sachsen am Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts dargestellt und anhand ausgewählter Werke eines ihren bekanntesten Autoren, Friedrich Lám diskutiert. Die Werke Láms werden mit der Einstellung anderer Vertreter der deutschsprachigen Minderheit im damaligen Königreich Ungarn verglichen.

The article deals with the double identity of the Spiš Saxons, its historical roots together with their national patriotism. First the historical background of the Hungarus consciousness of the Spiš Saxons at the beginning of the 20th century is described and discussed on the basis of selected works of one of their best-known authors, Friedrich Lám. The works of Lám will be compared with the attitude of other representatives of the German-speaking minority in Hungarian Kingdom at that time.
